Una aproximación al análisis de variables que inciden en el origen y propagación de incendios forestales: comuna de Valparaíso temporada 2023-2024

RESUMEN
El presente artículo propone un acercamiento a la identificación de variables que poseen incidencia en el origen y la posterior propagación de los incendios forestales registrados en la comuna de Valparaíso, con el objeto de determinar su significancia y las relaciones existentes que aporten al desarrollo del fenómeno. Para tal efecto, se llevó a cabo la identificación de las variables de interés en el área de estudio, analizando una muestra de 134 Reportes de Operaciones de Incendios de CONAF disponibles para la temporada 2023-2024 en la plataforma SIDCO, efectuando su evaluación mediante una estructura estadística descriptiva y de correlación de Pearson de aquellas variables numéricas. En base a ello, se constató que las variables mayormente correlacionadas son la temperatura y la humedad relativa del aire. El 40% de los incendios intencionales, se encuentran asociados espacialmente a caminos secundarios, los que además generan en promedio 130 ha quemadas con ocurrencia durante la noche, afectando a vegetación compuesta principalmente por la asociación pastizal-matorral-plantación. El presente estudio, además de contribuir al conocimiento de las variables que inciden en la expresión del incendio, contribuye a robustecer las futuras líneas investigativas abordadas por la PDI relacionadas con la Determinación de Origen y Causa de incendios en la comuna.

An approach to the analysis of influential variables both in the origin and spread of wildfires: Valparaíso region, 2023-2024 season.
ABSTRACT
This article proposes an approach to the identification of variables that have an impact on the origin and subsequent spread of wildfire registered in the commune of Valparaíso, in order to determine its significance and the existing relations that contribute to the development of the phenomenon. For this purpose, the identification of the variables of interest in the study area was carried out, analyzing a sample of 134 CONAF Fire Operations Reports available for the 2023-2024 season on the SIDCO platform, evaluating them by using a descriptive statistical structure and Pearson correlation of those numerical variables. Based on this, it was found that the most correlated variables are temperature and relative humidity of the air. 40% of intentional fires are spatially associated with secondary roads, which also generate an average of 130 ha burned during the night, affecting vegetation that is composed mainly of the grassland-scrubplantation association. This study, in addition to contributing to the knowledge of the variables that influence the expression of the fire, contributes to strengthen the future lines of investigation addressed by the PDI related to the determination of the origin and cause of fires in the commune.
